Like so many NYC young urban professionals you have found a decent living space for yourself (not an easy accomplishment). Enjoy your new living space BUT put $avings aside and keep your credit score up because in time you will outgrow that apartment and want not only more space but you will also want to OWN your own spot and pay your own mortgage. I’ve been there and done that in the NYC area.

Fake plants are really bad feng shui, hon

  3. SOBaseball on December 2, 2021 at 1:42 pm

Why in the world would anyone want to move to new york city?? Gross!

  4. Christi Saari on December 2, 2021 at 1:43 pm

I rent the basement of my house for $1725/mth.

1840 sq ft, 3 bedroom, w and d, new kitchen and it has its own furnace/a/c. It includes use of the pool and 1 space in the garage.
Oh and utilities and internet is inluded.

    That 8th one is weird

  7. Kane Ozman on December 2, 2021 at 1:47 pm

If people think New York is expensive… try looking at Hong Kong 😂😂😂

  8. Yas V on December 2, 2021 at 1:48 pm

You do know that if you don’t have an intercom system you can just can a doorbell on amazon

  9. Gilda Stigliano on December 2, 2021 at 1:48 pm

  10. Gabriela sinclair on December 2, 2021 at 1:54 pm

  12. Moe Moe on December 2, 2021 at 1:56 pm

So you don’t have to read the article, they have showers in the kitchen because at one point there was no water. And when an act was passed that required them to have running water all the landlords thought it would basically be easier for them to have the showers/baths close to sinks (cuz then they’d only have to put in one piping system).

You hit the jackpot with the last one! So pretty

  14. Alicia Dennis on December 2, 2021 at 1:58 pm

    Congratulations on your new home!

  15. The Real Robin on December 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm

So after this , if you don’t have the money for a house or a great apartment why would you want to live in NYC?

  16. Aissatou Bah on December 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm

    Gasping in Canadian dollars

    If you’re a trust fund baby, it’s easy 🙄

  19. allison clarke on December 2, 2021 at 2:03 pm

Pretty similar circumstances to what is happening here in southern california. I was one of the lucky one’s whose lease was up when the rates dropped during covid and was able to move into a 2 bed 2 bath unit in my same complex for only $100 more a month than my 1 bedroom was going to be. I am currently paying $2319 before utilities and when I looked at prices a couple weeks ago, they want over $3700 for my same floor plan!

  20. Jenny Reyes on December 2, 2021 at 2:04 pm

And was very disappointing how much did she end up paying for the apartment

  21. crystal so sweet on December 2, 2021 at 2:06 pm

    Grosheries.

  22. Jamie Renae on December 2, 2021 at 2:06 pm

The elevated shower in the kitchen 🤣

    OMG, NY looks expensive

  24. PVE Kings on December 2, 2021 at 2:10 pm

    I’m in love 😍

  25. Bla Blub on December 2, 2021 at 2:11 pm

I laugh at your woman’s logic. So you can’t sign the first apartment? Then why look at all? 🤣🤣🤣 I did just that. It took me a week to win the lottery among the apartments in Nuremberg (metropolis) in Germany. 60 square meters for € 630 warm with ancillary costs. Best location 1st floor, kitchen for 150 € with space for washing machine in the bathroom and balcony in a quiet garden

  26. Patty Ray on December 2, 2021 at 2:11 pm

I live in Northern California in a single family home, 2450 square feet, single story with 4 bedrooms with walk-in closets, 3 full bathrooms each with a bathtub & shower, two linen closets, two-car garage, front & back yards, kitchen with pantry, living room, family room, dining room, office, and a full laundry room. I pay only $2,100 monthly, which includes a weekly gardening service.

  27. Rebecca Pechon on December 2, 2021 at 2:12 pm

I love apt 9! So nice!

  28. allison clarke on December 2, 2021 at 2:12 pm

Once you go to in unit laundry, you will never go back to in building lol

  29. White Plains Apartment rental on December 2, 2021 at 2:13 pm

Ive lived here forever. The crazy thing is about 90 percent of these places have mice and rodent issues at some point….Reason why I moved to the suburbs. But I also understand being young and wanting to live in the city.

  30. Rebecca Pechon on December 2, 2021 at 2:14 pm

I really like the portable laundry machines that you can set in your tub when you use them (to drain) and I bet that would be helpful in New York for sure

  31. D Chen on December 2, 2021 at 2:16 pm

not planning to get an apartment in nyc but it was interesting watching this video, i like how you clearly went through your requirements and budgets beforehand and checked out so many places

  33. Megan Palmisano on December 2, 2021 at 2:16 pm

  34. Heaven Nicole on December 2, 2021 at 2:19 pm

I am so thankful for my 2 bedroom 1 bath brick home with a huge yard a storage building and a full garage for 650$ a month.

  35. mcw0805 on December 2, 2021 at 2:20 pm

Thanks for the vid! I plan on apartment hunting this upcoming month in NY, and this has been helpful. I also lived in NY for 2 years but jumped around subleases, which I’m sick of haha.

  41. Rebecca Pechon on December 2, 2021 at 2:32 pm

I once had a dream that I was house searching and the yard was so nice but there was a shower in the kitchen and I was so confused lol

  42. spewgilist on December 2, 2021 at 2:32 pm

interesting for a while but the up-talking became oppressive

  43. Olivia Eff on December 2, 2021 at 2:33 pm

  47. Jennifer Stinnett on December 2, 2021 at 2:36 pm

Loved the video and how realistic and honest it was. I may have missed it – but how much did the final apt end up being? @juliafei

  49. QUINTESSA M on December 2, 2021 at 2:37 pm

Some LA apartments have the same thing (showers/tubs) in the kitchen but something about the shower being raised off the ground seems like a safety hazard 🥴

  50. ohhdearitstinaa on December 2, 2021 at 2:40 pm

Hi do you need a roommate 😅
